Connecting, Sharing, and Growing Together in Blairgowrie

Sheila and Rowan visiting Blairgowrie day centre

Sheila and Rowan recently visited the Blairgowrie Day Opportunity Centre, where they enjoyed a warm welcome from both staff and the people they support. The visit was a great opportunity to share experiences of group activities from Hear Our Roar and to learn more about the inspiring work happening locally.

There was plenty of lively discussion, with everyone exchanging ideas and stories. The Blairgowrie group proudly showcased their own developing newsletter, which sparked great interest.

We were keen to invite them to contribute articles to the Hear Our Roar website, an exciting way to share their voices with a wider audience.

The conversation also turned to the Safe Places scheme and the importance of creating welcoming, supportive spaces in the community.

Safe Place Scheme

The group expressed real enthusiasm for encouraging local cafes and shops to become Safe Places, helping people feel more confident and secure when out and about in Blairgowrie.

It was a visit full of collaboration, creativity, and a shared commitment to making the community even more inclusive.
